Beau Bree Rhee (b. 1985, New York) is a visual artist & choreographer. Her work centers around body-space-ecologies and our radical dependencies with the environment and cosmos. She works primarily with performance and drawing/ painting, and additionally with poetry, scores and installation. As a trilingual/tri-cultural artist (Korean-American-French) and synesthete, she is invested in multi-modal work & collaborations spanning cosmology, philosophy, astronomy, earth sciences and haptic forms (scent, sound). Rhee has shown her work at Ma’s House BIPOC Art Studio; KW Institute for Contemporary Art/Berlin Biennale; The Kitchen NY; Bard Graduate Center Gallery NY; Kaaitheater Bruxelles; Barysh- nikov Arts Center NY; MoMA/PS1 NY; among others. Her work is in private collections and the MoMA Library & Re- search Collection. In 2021, she was awarded a Tishman Environment & Design Center grant to begin a long-term land art project Dream Garden in the Anthropocene. Rhee is based in NYC, and is an amateur gardener and swimmer. Rhee completed her BA in Art History and Dance at Barnad College, Columbia University in New York and her MFA at the University of Art & Design in Geneva Switzerland (Haute école d’art et de design Genève.).
